The Toronto Hotel is a Victorian era Hotel, which sits prominently in the town of Toronto and is highly visible from Lake Macquarie. The Hotel site has a unique history with significant pre – European Aboriginal heritage and was used as an Aboriginal Mission in the early 19th Century.
The Hotel has been allowed to deteriorate over many years. Cullinan Ivanov Partnership’s brief was to restore the hotel to its former glory but also to create new uses and spaces including creation of a modern Function Centre ,modern indoor and outdoor dining areas, new indoor /outdoor gaming and TAB and new large beer garden area.
Working as the lead consultant for the client we have been heavily involved in coordinating and assessing the work of the structural, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and fire engineers, accessibility consultant and heritage and archaeological consultants.
CI Partnership have undertaken detailed photographic recording and drawn studies of the existing Hotel, carried out extensive physical model making and computer visualization studies to assist our client and Council to better understand the design.
Congratulations to Jon Bortoli for taking out Best Retail Outlet for the new bottleshop at the AHA Awards for Excellence 2018.
